A life well lived. A legacy that endures

From the Board of Trustees of the Trenton Literacy Movement Inc.

The Trenton Literacy Movement Board of Trustees honors the life and legacy of our beloved colleague, Mrs. Barbara Flythe—an extraordinary woman whose commitment to literacy, justice, and community uplift enriched countless children and families.

For more than a decade, Barbara served with wisdom, warmth, and an unwavering belief that every child deserves the freedom that reading provides. She lived this conviction, often found in elementary classrooms reading aloud with joy and grace. Justice, compassion, education, and community were her daily practices and the hallmarks of her life journey.

Barbara’s legacy is woven into the fabric of TTLM, inspiring us through her gentle leadership and steadfast commitment to equity.
